This
month the Nailympics London results are published for the world to see
just who walked away with which titles, it has been reported over eight
pages, however the actual scores will be published next month - so please
bear with me. But if you need to know now the scores have been uploaded
onto a Nailympics link alongside this feature on the Scratch and Olympia
Beauty websites - its just a surf away!
One person particularly stood out for me this time around as she walked
away with her thirds Winner of Winners title. This person in infamous
Karin Ström from Sweden, who I felt deserved this month to get
a Stomp Award to honour her skill, so please take some time to revel
in her excellence by turning to page 76 to find out more.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who gave
up their time freely to helpme administrate this year's Nailympics event.
It really is a massive task to bring this event together and myself
and Janine most certainly could not pull it off without a lot of help
and support. So thank you to all who offered precious time and effort
to get this most excellent global nail competition off the ground for
the 4th year.
To celebrate the shining sun and the joy of summer, Scratch has teamed
up with Salonserve in association with Martin John to invite readers
to take part in a nail art competition. Quite unusual in its makeup,
this competition strictly states that only Salonserve nail art products
can be used, and in order to make sure they are, you must register with
Salonserve at a cost of £10 in order to receive £20 worth
of products. It sounds like a great deal to me. The closing date is
30 September, so you have heaps of time to register, organise your products
and get on with the creation of stunning nails. See page 64 for further
details.
On a slightly sad note I have to say goodbye to one of my team members
this month. Features writer, Helen Forster, who has been with us since
early 2007, is moving to pastures new. I am very sorry to see her go,
as her editorial input and exuberant personality have been evident in
the pages of Scratch. Goodbye and very good luck Helen, the team and
I wish you well!
