PINTREST highlights growing interest in lash treatments and nail art

Pinterest has revealed its annual Pinterest 100 report, which sees a variety of trend predictions for 2018 identified by the social media platform. Including beauty and lifestyle forecasts, the report reveals an insight into consumer browsing habits on the social media platform.

“Beauty is booming on Pinterest with a 75% increase in pins year over year,” reveals the platform. “Pinners are looking to the experts for the latest products to try and buy, and tips and tutorials for everyday looks and special occasions.”

Lashes were revealed as one of the top trends, with a 152% increase in searches according to Pinterest. “Brows are still big, but all eyes are on long, lush lashes and how to get them,” the site reveals.

Graphic nail designs were also revealed as a trend to watch for, with Pinterest citing geometric and negative space manis as a ‘a fun way to flash some personality’. Searches for ‘geometric nails’ were up 83%.

Another trend highlighted included ‘complexion matching’ make-up, seeing an increase of 378% in searches. Facial rollers were also tipped to be a must-have skincare tool, with searches for the term ‘derma roller’ up 345%.

Other identified trends include bright eyeshadow looks, cleansing oil products, lip tints and all-in-one makeup kits. The report also cites a continual intrest in wellness, with the term ‘self care’ up on 537% searches.
