Hi Scratch readers!

Week 6 saw the theme of ‘love’! It was such a fab theme in the lead up to Valentine’s Day. This meant that there had to be a few pink and red nails in the mix this week – and some hearts of course!

Another fav look was for Ale. She is fab and is always so excited to see what I’ll be creating on her nails each week. Ale and Max’s look was very punk rock with accents of purple and silver. I mimicked the make-up by creating lightning bolts on a few of the nails. I started with a layer of the Salon System Gellux Gel Polish in Silver Linings over the entire nail – I’m sure this colour has been used every week! I then used my thinnest nail art brush to create a lightning bolt to one side of the nail in Salon System Gellux shade Black Onyx and another in a purple hue. I then filled in each side leaving the silver lightning bolt in the middle. Ale loves a splash of glitter so applied the Magpie Beauty Glitter in Hope to all the purple areas. The design sees careful layering, so be careful not to apply each layer too thick as it will appear lumpy once finished. Thin layers and more of them is always best.My favourite look of the week was Brooke’s. I used the IBD Builder Gel underneath Just Gel Polish shade, Bing Cherries and Breathtaking. As Brandee already had red nails, we wanted to do something a little different so created V shaped accents on a few of the nails in both shades. It’s a brilliant design for extremely long coffin shaped nails and you can use any colour and even add some glitter.

Alex looked so pretty in pink this week. Her outfit was hot pink with red accents. For her nails I used the new Salon System Gellux polishes in Helter Skleter from the Fun At The Fair Collection, with the Lecenté Pink Iridescent Glitter. I also hand painted a little heart on the ring fingers just because it looked cute!

Who knows what themes will come up next week but I can’t wait to see all the costumes and make-up designs. Not long to go until the final! Come back next week to see what we got up to!
