Hi Scratch readers!

So, we’re nearly at the end of the Dancing On Ice journey. Last week was Fairytale week, which I could not wait for as I just knew the team would pull all of the looks out of the bag, and they did just that.

Actress, Brooke Vincent, took us to wonderland with a mad hatter-inspired skate this week. Iused the Salon System GELLUX Gel Polish in Lucky Dip and silver leaf on the accent nail to match her stunning costume.

Pro skater Brandee’s look was inspired by Little Red Riding Hood. Her costume was red and white, so you guessed it – that’s exactly what I did on her nails. I used the Daily Charm Metallic Chrome Flakes in red over the IBD Bing Cherries and the GELLUX Purely White with the Daily Charm Magic White Chrome on top.Using the GELLUX Gel Polish in Black Onyx, I painted this onto the entire nail (missing out the ring fingers). On the accent nails I used my go-to dotting tool to carefully draw a lace pattern, similar to the Face Lace sticker used, onto the nail. Pro skater, Vanessa was inspired by the evil queen. The make-up team created a gorgeous gothic look on Vanessa and teamed it with Face Lace around the eyes so I wanted to mimic this on the nails. I don’t tend to find out the themes until the day, so had to get my creative head on and think how to create a lace effect on the nail – hand painting was the answer!

In my next post, I’ll reveal what goes down at the semi-finals.
