Pamper parties encouraged to help nail blood cancer

International non-profit organisation, DKMS, has unveiled #LetsNailBloodCancer, an initiative to help raise funds and register more potential blood stem cell donors.
According to the DKMS website, someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer every 20 minutes, and 40% of patients in the UK cannot find their potential lifesaver; a blood stem cell donation from a matching donor. DKMS works to register as many people onto the UK stem cell registry as possible (at £40 a time) so that one day, there will be a suitable donor for anyone that needs one.
DKMS is encouraging the hosting of mani-pedi parties before Blood Cancer Awareness Month (September) and beyond to help raise funds, particularly with salon owners and mobile nailists that may wish to host pamper parties and donate a portion of their fee to the cause.
