Natalie Wilson Christmas Raffle

Natalie Wilson, owner of the Beauty Box salon in Castleford, has raised an impressive £782 for the Leeds Children’s Transplant Team.

Her daughter, Holly, was born with a rare genetic kidney disease called Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome, which has seen her undergo treatments three to four times each week.

Just days after her fourth birthday, Holly had both of her kidneys removed in surgery and was dialysis dependent until she was ready to receive one of her mother’s kidneys.

In 2015, Holly had a successful kidney transplant at Leeds General Infirmary and is now a part of the Leeds Children’s Transplant Team – an admirable group of children that have all had life-saving transplants.

Along with Holly’s help, Natalie held a raffle at her salon just before Christmas and guests to the event also enjoyed some festive fun and games all in aid of the Leeds Children’s Transplant team. Prizes for the raffle were generously donated by salon customers, DHL Castleford, Sweet Squared and Burberry.

Being a part of this team allows Holly to attend the annual UK Transplant Games; enabling youngsters that were previously too ill to take part in sports the chance to join in on the fun.

Natalie says, “Holly is an inspiration to anyone who meets her. I feel so lucky to have been able to donate a kidney to my loving little girl and it’s great to see her getting on with life and enjoying dancing, choir and theatre, as well as the prestigious Transplant Games.”
