Hollywood’s awards season kicked off last night with the 78th Golden Globe Awards, recognising talent in the TV and film industries around the world.

While the ceremony may not have been its usual grand-scale gathering, it still saw A-Listers dressed up to attend via video link – with stunning manicures to suit courtesy of celebrity manicurists.

Take a look at some of the nail looks of the awards and the talented manicurists that created them…

Star of Netflix show, The Queen’s Gambit, Anya Taylor-Joy scooped a Golden Globe while wearing chess-inspired nail art.

Created by nail artist, Kim Truong, the nail design sought inspiration from the hit show by including chess pieces and a checkerboard pattern over a clear base.

Margot Robbie wore Chanel Le Vernis shade, #765 Interdit – a deep red hue.

The manicure was complete by top nail stylist, Tom Bachik, who revealed how he created the look on his Instagram: “For this look, I used La Base by Chanel, Chanel #765 Interdit, Le Top Coat by Chanel and finished the look with Chanel Huile De Jasmin Revitalizing Facial Oil and Le Créme Main Hand Cream to nourish, soften, brighten and give that Hollywood red carpet glow.”

Manicurist, Thuy Nguyen, created a nude almond nail look for actress, Lily Collins, the lead in Netflix show, Emily in Paris.

Thuy Nguyen was also on hand to craft a shimmering nail look to match actress, Lana Condor’s, Monique Lhuillier pale blue embellished dress.

Nail stylist, Christina Viles, created a custom nail colour for Viola Davis, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for her role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
