1. Saluting with style

Women in the US Army are now able to wear nail polish alongside lipstick and earrings as part of the army’s “major revisions” to its regulations.The changes will be in force from 24 February as “optional wear” and allow women to wear coloured nails with men allowed to wear clear nail polish.

2. Menstrual-inspired nail polish?

A Singaporean brand, Blood, has launched two period-themed nail polishes: Day 2, a deep red, described as “the pinnacle of your period” and Day Off, a neutral beige colour.

3. Legendary nails inspired by Lancashire teenager

A teenage nail artist’s skill has caught the eyes of celebrity nail technician Chaun Legend after honing her skills during the UK lockdown.

Eleanor Szejner, a nail artist from Lancashire, UK, rents a chair at Michaela’s Hair and Beauty Salon in Blackburn and caught the eye of the famed technician who regularly styles rap sensation Cardi B and reality show star Kylie Jenner. This led to Chaun recreating one of Eleanor’s styles on celebrity make-up artist Make-Up By Ariel.

5. Spot the celebrity manicure!
