Wow… what a night! Here, at HQ we’re still on a high from last night’s Scratch’s Summer Party and Scratch Stars Awards!

With 18 categories to award over the evening, London’s Tropicana Beach Club was buzzing with nerves and anticipation as the finalists, sponsors and guests arrived. While eagerly awaiting for the awards to start, cocktails were sipped and canapes nibbled by guests. The venue was decked out with glittering star and exotic flowers decorations – setting the party mood perfectly. Guests posed for photos and finalists mingled with fellow finalists. With over 350 people in attendance from across the industry, the evening saw the chance to celebrate the nail world and the talent within it.

To kick the awards off,  Scratch editor-in-chief, Alex Fox, and the evening’s suave host, Blue singer and Hollyoaks actor, Duncan James, took to the stage. Duncan and sponsors of the event announced the winner of each category one-by-one, calling them to the stage and presenting them with their coveted Scratch Stars gold award. The full list of winner can be seen here!

The night saw some double wins for the finalist. Both Virag Timar and Hazel Dixon scooped two skill-based awards each, while Tammy Koslowski and the team at NAF! Salon were also called to the stage to collect two awards for their categories.

The ceremony was paused for a stunning performance from singing star, Amelia Lily, which saw some guests make their way to the dance floor. Duncan and Alex returned to the stage and the ceremony recommenced. The second half of the awards saw the whole room stood and applaud Stephanie Staunton. Scooping The Shooting Star Award for this year, Stephanie’s incredible industry-uniting campaign, Nailing Mental Health, impressed the judging panel. Presented by Scratch’s editor and event organiser, Helena Biggs, reiterated how impressed she was by Stephanie’s efforts and how deserving of the award Stephanie is. In her speech, Stephanie thanked everyone for their support and involvement in the campaign and stating Nailing Mental Health would return at Olympia Beauty on October 2nd.

Triumphantly, all the evening’s winners crowded onto the stage for a group shot with Duncan and Alex, all holding their glittering gold trophies. A bright explosion from the confetti cannons meant it was the start of the party. The dance floor filled, with guests – winners and finalists alike – dancing until gone midnight!

Congratulation again to the winners and finalist and Scratch would like to thank our sponsors for helping to make such an incredible evening for everyone!
