Though it may be an unofficial holiday, Galentine’s Day is widely celebrated, emphasising the importance of female friendships. Inspired by the American television series, Parks and Recreation, the 13th February is a day for friends to shower their platonic loved ones with appreciation. Typical celebrations include going out for brunch, gift-giving and general pampering.
