About the courses

The five-day foundation course is designed to provide a platform upon which the beginners can develop their skills.

The course is available for L&P acrylic or gel systems.

The training has been carefully constructed to provide a mix of both practical skills and knowledge which will enable you to progress in your career as a nail professional.

The course covers:

• Nail anatomy
• Nail diseases / disorders
• Tip application
• Sculpting technique
• Powder liquid ratio
• Product application
• Filing & finishing techniques
• Maintenance procedures & repairs
• Salon know how, etiquette and business building
• Enhancement removal
• Techniques for nail biters

Duration

The training is a 5-day course. Days are split into two 2 day sessions across two weeks. Days 1-4 will be 10am-3/4pm. The fifth day is an exam day which you will book at the end of day 4. The fifth day will either be 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm depending on the date selected.

The kit

Price includes training manual, comprehensive training kit and certificate.

The acrylic course is taught using the Attraction acrylic system. The powders are a blend available in radiant colour options, which aim to offer workability and deliver strength and flexibility. The attraction liquid is low odour, non-yellowing and designed for easy pick up.

The gel course utilises the Balance UV/LED system. The system is versatile, durable, odourless, and hypoallergenic. It combines a no-lift adhesive UV gel foundation, with free flowing flexible self-levelling builder gels and finish gels that add a permanent high gloss finish.

Requirements

No prior experience is required. The courses are both ideal for beginners. Students must bring their own face mask, salon wear must be worn. Nails must be free from enhancements. You will need to supply a passport size photograph of yourself. A model is required on the assessment day.

Location

Training is  held at the NSI Training Academy, which is located in NSI UK’s HQ in Manchester.

Certificate

Upon successful completion an NSI foundation course certificate will be awarded.
