Step inside the Devon beauty salon dedicated to the client experience

Torquay-based nail tech, Olivia Puskas, began her industry journey in 2016, studying a level 2 qualification in Nail Treatments. The course covered mani and pedi services, as well as enhancements, nail art, client care and more.

This stood Olivia in good stead to launch her career, and in 2022, she further developed her skills through advanced courses with The GelBottle Inc. “One of the highlights of my training was a one-to-one nail art workshop at The GelBottle HQ in Brighton, with the incredibly talented Giorgia Cappella,” Olivia says. “It was an experience that really inspired me to refine my creativity and technique.”

Having committed to developing her skills, Olivia decided to make the leap to home-based working two years ago. She started out from her spare bedroom, but quickly realised that her dream was to create a dedicated home studio.

“Luckily, I have an amazing private landlord: a family friend who had a small storage room at the back of the house,” reveals Olivia. “He kindly let me rent and transform it into a beautiful salon space. The full process took around six months, and I officially opened the doors to my home studio in November 2025.”

Olive’s Nails & Beauty boasts a green theme: a colour chosen because it reflects the name of the salon and one of Olivia’s favourite hues. She explains: “I wanted the space to feel calm, natural and inviting, while still having a modern, elegant touch.”

The pro says her goal was to create ‘a little escape, where clients can unwind while getting their nails done’. Olive’s Nails & Beauty is located in a quiet area with peaceful surroundings. “It’s the perfect setting for my clients to relax,” notes Olivia.

Alongside lash services, the salon offers a range of nail treatments including gel manicures and pedicures, builder gel and extension services. “I also specialise in unique, custom nail art: something my clients absolutely love,” Olivia adds.

Olive’s Nails & Beauty uses a mix of brands including Halo, Nail Order, The GelBottle Inc and Glossify. “For my luxury manicure and pedicure services, I use Kaeso products,” Olivia states. “I love the high-quality formulas and how gentle they are on the skin, leaving my clients’ hands and feet feeling nourished and pampered.”

Olivia’s clients are her main focus. “My biggest hope is that every client – both new and returning – loves my space as much as I do,” she says. “I’d love to continue welcoming new faces into my home studio, getting to know more people and building lasting relationships.”
