Pinterest Palette™ reveals 5 colours set to define 2026 nail trends

Pinterest Palette™, the annual, data-driven colour trend report by social media platform, Pinterest, has revealed which hues are likely to dominate this year.

From striking yellow-green to deep purple, let’s dive into the defining shades of 2026 and how they’ll impact the nail world…

The 2026 palette provided by Pinterest features five colours, ‘identified from the searches and saves of Pinterest‘s 600+ million monthly active users’. The platform comments that the colours reflect ‘the cultural and creative shifts expected to influence design, consumer preference and purchase intent’.

Caroline Orange‑Northey, Pinterest managing director, UK & Ireland, comments: “Colour is one of the fastest ways that consumers signal taste and intent – and one of the smartest levers brands can use to stand out on the shelf and on-screen.

“Pinterest Palette™ translates early search and save signals into a practical outlook retailers and marketers can apply to product direction, packaging and creative campaigns, helping them stay culturally relevant and drive measurable action in 2026.”

The five colours are:

Cool Blue

A ‘clean, icy wash of colour’, this shade epitomises everything the new year needs, splashing us in the face with renewed energy. Pinterest comments: “After years of bland beige and nesting neutrals, people are ready for something sharp and refreshing.”

In 2026, the desire to reconnect with nature will see people gravitate towards luxurious and jewel-toned hue, jade. “It’s nature, dressed up,” says Pinterest. “This mineral green behaves like a sophisticated neutral.”

2026 is the year of the bold, brazen and burgundy. The popularity of this deep purple shade is ‘fuelled by a broader rejection of youthful pastels’, signifying a shift towards elegance and decadence.

A colour that Pinterest describes as ‘electric chartreuse’, this yellow-green hue is gaining momentum, fuelled by Gen Z’s fixation on cyber-Y2K aesthetics and the influence of singer, Charli XCX’s Brat album, which featured a similarly arresting shade on its cover.
