Salon in the Spotlight: Nails By Rae Florence, Caldicot, Wales

Rae Florence was set to begin her primary education training this September but in a turn of events, she listened to her gut feeling and set out to pursue her dream of running her own salon.
From a young age, Rae had been fascinated with the world of nails and three months ago, she began her training with Blossom Academy.
After completing the training and also completing the Lucy Pastorelli E-file course, Rae has now opened her own home salon.
The salon is a wooden cabin in the back of Rae’s garden, a space which her mother used to use for sewing. It took one month to remodel.
“I really want my salon to be a place where people can relax and feel comfortable for the time that they are sat there. I want my clients to feel welcomed the minute that they enter,” Rae comments.
Using The GelBottle Inc and offering gel polish manicures and pedicures as well as builder gel services, Rae has also recently trained with Nouveau Lashes to offer LVL treatments.
“I think what keeps my salon unique is that I change the decor to match the seasons,” Rae continues.
With her favourite part of working as a one-man-band at her home salon being that she can choose her own hours, Rae has future goals of building her clientele and strives to one day be a nail artist at London Fashion Week and extend her salon space.
