Specially built to house her growing business, Leeann Doherty’s aptly named home salon is currently situated in a cosy cabin.

“My business, Leeann’s Beauty Hut, was started in my kitchen,” laughs Leeann Doherty. “I have been working for my self since I first trained in nails in 2012. I love nail art and anything that sparkles, so from here my interest in beauty snowballed leading me to train in a variety of beauty services, including individual eyelash extensions.

“Once the children were in bed, I would set up at the kitchen table. I became so busy my husband built ‘The Hut’. The new location is the perfect size for me with a nail station and beauty couch. The hut is lovely and clean, painted with white walls with a silver glitter wall paper on the feature wall. I feel this adds extra light to the small space.

“On the floor we have grey tiles which are lovely and cool in the summer and lovely and cosy in the winter with the underfloor heating. Shabby chic framed mirror and shelving add some prettiness to the space. I feel like the salon is very chic but clean and fresh at the same time.”

Specialising in nail treatments and lash extensions, Leeann currently offers a variety of services. “My favourite product is Gel II gel polish,”Leeann enthuses. “This gel polish is lovely to work with and my clients get long lasting results with it. When a treatment requires varnish, I love Jessica polishes and products, especially the prescription base coats and new speed dry spray. It’s so lovely not having to worrying about clients smudging their varnish.

“Nail art is my speciality and my clients love to keep me on my toes with crazy detailed designs.

“I have recently trained in volume lashing,” Leeann adds, “Wow it is an art. I am practicing hard and my clients are super excited for me to start offering this service.”

Thanks to its cosy set-up and Leeann’s passion for beauty, Leeann’s Beauty Hut promotes a professional yet personable environment. “I feel my hut is very unique,” Leeann smiles. “My clients feel very relaxed coming here and many have said they prefer it to visiting a high street salon as it’s more personal. They love a good gossip too so love that it’s just us in there. Some have even come in their pjs! It’s lovely knowing clients feel that relaxed with me, we all have such a laugh. One day I will expand and grow a team but, right now, I am in no rush.”
