Qualifying as a nail technician during the lockdown of 2020 around the same time as having her baby, Rachael Dorrity was initially unable to build a clientele.

“Since restrictions have been relaxed, I decided to just go for it and start my nail journey. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for Little Birch Nails!”

“The salon is a very modern nail cabin, which is located in my back garden. It’s a very sleek and stylish little hideaway, the perfect place for clients to just relax and have their manicures.

“The overall design of the cabin is very unique, I haven’t came across another one quite like it as of yet,” she smiles. “My father actually designed and built the cabin himself, so that makes it that little bit more special to me!”

“I offer gel polish, builder gels, and nail art to natural nails only,” Rachael explains. “I am fully qualified and specialise in hand painted nail art designs.

“I am a brand ambassador for Meraki Professional, so I use a lot of their products. They are absolutely amazing! I also have quite a few products from The Gel Bottle and Glossify, which are both fantastic brands also.”

“I decided to go for classy and elegant décor, such as the white panelling, grey wooden floor and the wooden nail table with chrome finishes. By adding the grey touches, it has added a bit of warmth to the salon.

“I have a bit of a garden theme going on, such as the emerald green chairs, plants and the floor standing tree,” she reveals. “As I am still trying to keep in with the elegant theme, I have some vintage style gold furniture also which I feel really works with the green!”

“As the salon is based in my garden at home, I tried to bring some of the outdoors in, whilst also maintaining a professional and expensive feel.”

“The colour of my decor ties in with my logo, which is green and gold,” Rachael observes. “I find this really helps with keeping my salon and Instagram very recognisable and branded.

“The decor creates a really bright, fresh and calming atmosphere, which helps my clients to just sit back, relax and enjoy their experience.”
