Nailcraft By Vonny, Yvonne Tuckley

Starting life as the home study in Yvonne Tuckley’s family home, this salon is now a cosy retreat for clients.

Yvonne’s passion for nail care was inspired by her own experiences of nail damage, spurring her on to train and become fully accredited. Deciding she wanted to make her passion a career, Yvonne attend a small business start-up course, registered herself as a sole trader and began trading as Nailcraft by Vonny in October 2016.

Now offering a wide range of treatments, Yvonne’s service menu includes CND Brisa™ hard gel enhancements and overlays, gel polish services, manicures and pedicures, as well as a range of nail art options and warm paraffin wax treatments. “I also trained in Gelish PolyGel in last year,” Yvonne adds. “It has transformed my nail enhancement services. The product is amazing – so easy and pleasant to work with and my clients just love the way it feels.”

After her own experience, nail care is at the very heart of the salon’s ethos. “My mission is to ensure that the natural nail remains as healthy as possible,” Yvonne explains. “I offer IBX treatments if clients’ nails become weak or damaged and I promote the regular use of cuticle oil to maintain healthy nails and cuticles. I ensure that all products I used on the nails or skin are of the best quality.”

Yvonne’s care and attention detail is felt in the room’s décor; “I feel that the appearance of my nail room reflects the care and passion I have for my job,” Yvonne reveals. “It is clear for clients to see how much effort has gone into making them feel comfortable and special. I think this instils confidence that clients will receive good service and attention to detail with whichever treatment they choose.

“I thought long and hard when choosing the layout, decor and style of my nail room,” Yvonne adds. “I wanted to create a homely, comfortable space with a timeless style, where clients could walk in and feel immediately at ease. I chose natural wood & leather furniture, cool greys with mustard accents and copper accessories. The drift wood feature wall offers warm tones and interest. My pedicure bowl is my Grandmother’s jam making pot, which is the perfect size and fits nicely with the look of the room!”
