Originally dissuaded from a career in nails and beauty in favour of a more ‘professional’ career, Suzanne Edge knew her true calling could’t be ignored. Now with her new career and salon, she’s never been happier.

“I’d always known I wanted to be a nail technician but my family felt I should concentrate on a professional career. I continued my studies in business and management at university and obtained that ‘professional’ career. But less than three years later, I was miserable,” Suzanne remembers. “I knew what I had to do. With then my families support, I chose a course so I could train while working still. After many long nights, stress, tears and frustration, I started my business.

“Now I offer a range of beauty treatments including; waxing, facials, lashes, tinting , manicures, pedicures, acrylic and gel extensions and gel polish treatments. My passion is for nails so I love creating acrylic and gel sculptured extensions and nail art! My main products range is The Gel Bottle, Perfect Nails, NSI and Crystal Nails. My plan to expand has started with me currently being accepted on to ‘That Nail Girl’ training programme so my aim is to complete all stages and hopefully become an educator. I’d also love to start competing too.”

A home to her passion and creativity is Suzanne’s  salon. Previously a garage, the space was converted to create the perfect place to pamper. “My salon is so quirky as it looks small from the outside but opens up into a lovely, large, homely space,” she explains. “I wanted to create a place where clients could feel welcomed and comfortable, so chose a vintage, shabby chic theme. I love how quirky my salon is and how far I have come already which makes me very proud of myself and to be apart of this industry.”
