Toni Rodway started her nail career in 2003 after offering to be a model for a friend doing a local nail course. She then attended the course herself, convinced the salon owner to take her on as an apprentice and eventually took over managing the salon.

“I decided to move to home based and mobile after having four children and moving house due to my husband’s work, but I missed being in a salon! I decided to take the opportunity to rent a small new unit doing nails in 2018 to gain a better work/life balance.”

“By 2020, I had expanded the salon twice and gained another 4 members of staff offering a massive amount of treatments,” Toni explains. “The salon now consists of a large salon with a retail section and reception area, with three large beauty rooms.

“We have expanded twice already – we doubled and then tripled the size of the salon within two years. I plan to expand again if the space becomes available.”

“What makes my salon different is the fact that all the staff are so passionate and committed to offering a fabulous treatment,” she reveals. “Every member of staff is extremely experienced with a great amount of talent.

“We have a great reputation but we are also friendly, welcoming yet professional.”

“We all are passionate about what we do but we especially care and love making people feel relaxed and happy.”

“We opted for light, airy, décor in the salon, adding vintage pink rose paper and chandeliers. I really wanted a pretty countryside, vintage feel that was welcoming and relaxing.

“We are in the heart of pretty Dorset, so I wanted the salon to mirror the surroundings,” Toni observes. “I have high beams that were perfect for my chandeliers, with an amazing amount of light coming through which is perfect for my work. I’ve used mirrors to bounce the light and my mirrors match the restaurants traditional windows.
