Rosanna Sulovari’s nail and beauty journey began in 1999, when she enrolled onto a full time, two year course at Canterbury college. Upon completing her NVQ in beauty therapy, she began working at a salon in 2001, before going in maternity leave in 2006. Following the birth of her first child, Rosanna set up to work from home.

“I went back into a clinic after 10 years of working from home, working on the clients I already had. I’d lost a lot of my confidence after so much time away from salon work, and the industry had changed so much that I no longer felt relevant. Despite this, the boss at the clinic was amazing and she brought my confidence back up, hiring me straight away during my interview. I felt like she really valued my skills, knowledge and opinions. She gave me back my passion for for knowledge.”

“I moved into a spa in February 2019, picking up a different skill set and having a new experience. I realised early on that it wasn’t for me, so I left in July 2020, opening my home-based salon, which was ground floor and built for purpose with a basin.

“Business has been booming since then, which led me to expand into my current salon, which was a garage turned office, at the front of my home,” Rosanna reveals. “It’s completely separate from the house. The space is spacious, with a cloakroom, waiting area and large main salon.”

“I offer a huge range of beauty treatments at my salon. I focus on luxury, non-invasive, yet highly results driven treatments. What makes my salon different from most is how luxurious and high spec it is. I also think it’s unique as my salon is extremely spacious, yet it’s a home salon! My knowledge and years in the industry also puts me apart from others.

“I take the comfort and needs of my clients very seriously,” she notes. “I cater everything I can to their individual needs. My consultations are thorough and personalised to make sure I’m giving them exactly what they need. I like to teach them a little bit about what and why I’m doing something in each treatment, or about the anatomy and physiology of the area of theirs that I’m working on, or give them a little skincare science.”

“Hygiene is also very important to me and I do everything to the highest hygiene levels,” Rosanna explains. “All disposables during manis and pedis, such as nail files and foot rasps, are given to the client to take home after their treatment, and of course there’s absolutely no double dipping of anything.

“I use CND Shellac for manis and pedis, Kim Lawless’s hot wax for intimate waxing, Cliniccare and Cebelia for facials and Lash and Brow Bomb for my lash lifts and Brow Laminations.”

“It’s just me doing everything for now, but who knows what the future holds,” she smiles. “I have a 16 year old daughter and I’d love it if she joined me in the salon one day!

“I specialise in skincare and facials, intimate waxing, lash lifts and brow laminations, but I do everything from make-up, to threading, to massage. I love the diversity of each and every day and of my clients too.”

“I’m passionate about my work and I love it so much, it’s all I’ve ever done except for being a mother! “

“I opted for white and grey décor with pink and gold accents. I’ve gone for a luxury design with the tiles on the floor, and we have underfloor heating as well as Anthrosite radiators on the wall. I chose marble splash backs on the two sinks, and a pedicure throne with an antique gold pouring jug and bowl for the feet to soak in.

“It’s all exceptionally clean looking in my salon. It is quite clinical but very comfy and my clients just adore it. It’s show-stopping and unlike any other,” Rosanna enthuses. “It has been made to measure and helps me stay efficient as there’s so much space, which has allowed me to make different areas including ones for make-up, skincare, manis and pedis. It overall looks and feels very professional.”
