After training in 2019, nail artist, Vienna Marchant, began her career in a small high street salon. “The building was literally falling apart, so I decided it was time to create my own space,” she shares.

The Gel Studio – Vienna’s garden salon in Minehead – took four months to build, and the process was not without its bumps in the road. Vienna recalls that her garden originally had a pond that ‘had to be drained’ before work could begin. “Despite the chaos, it was all worth it, and creating a studio that’s truly my own is one of the best decisions I’ve made,” she smiles.

The Gel Studio boasts a serene interior made up of soft beige and cream tones, ‘finished with faux plants to ensure the space feels calm and natural’. One of the key features is Vienna’s wall display of gel polishes: “It’s a real show-stopper,” she comments.

Vienna’s salon attracts a wide range of clients, aged from 16 through to 82. All enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of The Gel Studio. “The salon is designed as a peaceful escape where clients can switch off, feel comfortable and enjoy some time for themselves,” Vienna says.

The pro offers a wide range of services such as gel polish manicures and pedicures, BIAB™, hard gel extensions and medical-grade pedicures. She uses brands including The GelBottle Inc, Navy Professional and Willow Academy, noting: “They’re all high-quality, well-recognised brands that I trust to deliver great results for my clients.”

As she currently works part-time to focus on her children, Vienna rents out her studio space to another nail tech when she’s not working. “In the future, I’d love to find a pro to rent the space for a day each week and offer head spa treatments, so clients can enjoy even more ways to relax,” Vienna says.
