Before discovering her passion for nail artistry during lockdown, salon owner, Georgia Steel, worked as a property manager. The extended time indoors led her to explore a new hobby – one that soon evolved into a deep love for nails.

“I qualified in 2022, completing my introductory gel manicure training with Honey Bunny Beauty, a local manicurist & educator,” Georgia says. “After working in a salon, I knew I wanted to maximise my income and work at home.
“I also wanted to separate my home and business for privacy, and to ensure a good work-life balance,” she continues. Having noted her workplace preferences, Georgia found a garden salon online that could be built as an outbuilding.
“I begged my dad to fly home from Australia to build it for me,” she laughs. “Two weeks later the salon was complete!”

Georgia’s salon, Georgia Does Nails, is a space of total calm. “I wanted my studio to have a cosy and warm vibe, without being too neutral,” she comments. “I love bohemian style, like a beach club in Ibiza, so included rattan furniture, natural fabrics, plants and mirrors for a chilled vibe, and kept the original wood on the ceiling.”

The nail artist details that she loves to add seasonal décor as the months change – ‘minimal Christmas decorations, baskets at Easter and vibrant flowers through summer’.

Georgia Does Nails offers a plethora of services, including pedicures, manicures and toenail reconstruction, for which Georgia uses The GelBottle Inc BIABTM and a range of hard gels – “American Creator is my favourite brand at the moment,” she says.
Georgia also specialises in bridal nails. “There was a gap in my area for brides looking to book wedding nail treatments,” she shares. “Make-up, hair and photography are big priorities, yet the hands that wear the rings are often overlooked.”

Georgia continues: “I love getting brides ready for their special days and being a part of the excitement. I offer trials in the lead-up and we figure out their designs and colours together.”
Georgia says she is grateful to be ‘booked and busy’, and her goals for the future include continued success for her salon.
