Step inside the Taunton beauty salon opening its doors to a new era

Sorella Collective – a beauty salon nestled within Taunton’s Independent Quarter – is the culmination of years of experience, love and skill.

Founders, Charlotte Murphy and Catherine Bunning, detail how the Somerset enterprise blossomed, and what is so special about their slice of luxury…

The journey

Sorella Collective brings together hair, skin and nailcare under one roof. Its story began at Lavender Rooms – Charlotte and Catherine’s first salon. “It was cosy, characterful and full of heart,” say the founders. “That’s where our ideas grew, our team came together and a loyal community supported us from day one.”

But growth demanded change. Just steps away from sister salon, CC Hair & Beauty, Sorella Collective was created to allow a ‘unified vision while offering clients even more expertise, choice and luxury’.

The new space required a total transformation before the team could move in. “We’ve navigated everything from design planning to wiring, ventilation and heat-recovery systems: all the challenges – and surprises – of a full renovation,” share Charlotte and Catherine.

“There were long days, late nights and plenty of laughter, but every detail has been shaped with intention and care.”

A carefully selected blend of browns, sand and tonal textures characterise Sorella Collective. “We chose this colour palette because it complements all hair and nail trends, offering a cool, understated backdrop,” comment Charlotte and Catherine.

The salon aims to feel like ‘an escape from the outside world’, acting as ‘a slice of luxury available to one and all’.

The team

With a team of 12 each bringing over a decade of industry knowledge, including hair stylists and skin and nail specialists, Sorella Collective is built on experience.

Trained and qualified with brands including Elemis, Dermalogica, Bio Sculpture and HydraFacial, the team prides itself on delivering results-driven treatments with genuine care.

“Our team stands out through a blend of refined skill and relaxed charm,” the owners explain. “We’re professionals at the core, but with a spirited, uplifting energy that makes every visit feel enjoyable and welcoming.”

Sorella Collective offers nail treatments including BIAB™, hard gel, gel polish overlays and extensions.

The future

“The salon is our heart,” share Charlotte and Catherine. “It’s where we lift people up, share genuine moments and create a space that feels like home for us and everyone who walks through the door.”

Looking ahead, their ambition is clear. “We want to continue delivering exceptional results, while challenging ourselves to step beyond our comfort zones,” the founders reveal. “Though, it is essential that we also recognise how much we have achieved so far.”
