Scratch quizzes Sarah Thompson, an NSI educator & Gold nail artist, about her love for nails & career story so far…

How did you get into the nail industry?
When I became pregnant with my son, I wanted to find a career that allowed me to work from home and that offered flexibility so I could care for him. I ordered some polishes online and had a play, which is when the passion truly started. I loved getting creative with the products and so I saved up to enrol on a training course with NSI.

What are your career highlights?
I was overjoyed to become the in-house nail artist for NSI and to demo for the brand at trade shows. It was a dream come true! I really have found my place in the nail world with my NSI family and feel so loved and supported by the team. It’s been an incredible experience and I’m so grateful for the kindness I have been shown.

In addition to this, I am also proud that I have built my own business from nothing and that I have succeeded in photographic competitions. I feel very blessed. I also completed NSI University this year and received the highest score in the form of the Gold Award, which was a very proud moment for me.

What products can you not live without?
The NSI Glaze ‘N Go range is up there with my necessities: I especially love the new Glaze ‘N Go Top Coat, including the Matte, Soft Pink and Glistening finishes and the NSI No. 8 Royal Round Precision Brush – no other brush compares in my eyes.

What do you love about NSI & being an educator?
NSI is at the forefront with the invention of advanced chemistry and second to none education, but also the nail tech is at the heart of the company. The NSI team is very quick to listen to techs and rectify any problems they may be having. The best part about being an educator for NSI is the professionalism of the company as a whole and how seriously they take the individual progression of each student. I feel extremely supported by a network of educators with such a wealth of knowledge.
