Chantelle Crerand, of Chantelle’s Pretties, revealed that sparkling embellishments on a white base have been extremely popular with her clients recently.

“This particular set of nails has been a popular one at my desk this week. I think that it might be the time of year which means that everyone is drawn to sparkles, and white is a colour that can be very neutral but also bright as well as being winter themed, making it a good colour to go out of December and into January with.

“These are acrylic nails painted with white gel polish from Halo. On the index and little finger, I rubbed on some mermaid pearl effect pigment from Born Pretty directly onto the cured white. I then topped those with Star Nails GF21 Clear Quatro Gel Top Coat as I find that this keeps the chrome pigments and shine intact.

“On the ring finger I used 4mm, 3mm and 2mm Eimass Swarovski alternative crystals to create a full bling finger effect, sealing them into a clear builder gel and setting them into the lamp. I find that, by doing this, it keeps them strong and intact for three or four weeks until my client comes back for infills. On the middle finger and thumb, I also used a clear builder gel to place the crystals and set. This time, however, I added a few pearls into the multitude to bring in the pearl-like effect from the index and little finger and, to finish off, I placed a bright star onto the tip of the thumb.

“On this particular client, the star meant something more meaningful for personal reasons; however, this look has been recreated on other clients by using the star as a symbol of bringing in the new year.”
