Rachel Lewis has been bringing her creativity to the nail industry since 2007, when she trained with CND™. After working from her home salon for years, she ended up taking on a new premises in 2023 and spent three months ‘completely transforming the space’. Thus, Pure Nails by Rachel in Newtown, Wales, was born.
Pure Nails by Rachel’s focus is on creating ‘a timeless, sophisticated atmosphere’. Rachel says: “Every detail – from the soft lighting to the sleek, stylish furniture – has been carefully chosen to make clients feel pampered and special.”
She notes the combination of beauty and functionality, making the space ‘the perfect environment to create flawless nails whilst ensuring every client enjoys a calm and elevated experience’.
Rachel’s salon is part of the Beauty Hub – ‘a team of talented professionals working under one roof’, and Rachel is the sole nail specialist. Her services include classic manicures and pedicures, gel extensions and custom nail art.
“My most popular treatment is red gel polish nails, or my signature cat eye finish, which clients love for its bold, elegant look,” she notes. Rachel uses brands such as The GelBottle Inc, Lecenté and Bio Sculpture, commenting that their products allow her to ’deliver flawless, professional results every time’.
As with every journey, Rachel’s nail career has not been without its challenges. A few years ago, she developed an allergy to acrylates, which are found in most nail products.
“It was such a difficult moment, but I refused to give up,” she says. “Instead, I researched, retrained and found safe ways to continue doing what I love.” By facing this challenge head-on and demonstrating strength and determination, Rachel has managed to continue following her passion.
Pure Nails by Rachel aims to be a space ‘where clients can relax, feel pampered and leave with nails that make them feel confident’. Looking to the future, Rachel hopes that the salon will become a go-to destination for luxury nails.
She intends to ‘keep expanding [her] skills, exploring new techniques and sharing a passion for nailcare, all while maintaining the high-quality, personal experience clients love’.
