How to paint on-trend, abstract cow print nails

Step 1

Prep the nails, file to shape, push back the cuticles and gently buff the nail plate. Brush away any dust. Apply a builder gel matching the skin tone, making sure to cap the edges and cure.

Step 2

Using a thin liner brush, apply a baby pink gel polish to the outer sides of the nails with a swirly detail down the centre. Repeat this process, making sure to cure in between coats.

Step 3

Using a detailing brush or dotting tool, create the cow print design on the baby pink areas using a brown gel polish hue. Apply the print randomly and do not make the shapes even in size and style. Cure. Apply a matte top coat and cure.

Step 4

Using an orange gel polish shade and thin liner brush, outline the negative space area of the nails, then cure.

Step 5

Cover the negative space and orange outline using a detail brush and glossy top coat, to create a half matte, half gloss finish. Cure and apply cuticle oil to finish.
