Autumn mix & match nails
Step by Step
Salon System nail expert & owner of The Nail Fairy, Caroline Roberts, has created a step-by-step for this autumnal mix and match style, which uses GELLUX’s autumn/winter 2022 collection of 8ml Minis. GELLUX products are available from wholesalers nationwide.
Step 1
Prep the nails and push back the cuticles. Shape and buff the natural nail bed with a grey and yellow buffer. Dust and wipe the nails with GELLUX Prep & Wipe, before applying a thin layer of GELLUX Fast Bond. Apply two thin layers of GELLUX Builder Gel in Rose Pink, curing each layer for 60 seconds. Wipe off any sticky excess with GELLUX Prep & Wipe and lightly buff the nails for a matte look. Use a nail brush to remove any dust.
Step 2
Apply two coats of GELLUX Mini, Dusty Lilac, to the middle finger and using a thin liner brush, create a French tip with the colour on the thumb. Apply two coats of GELLUX Mini, Plumberry, to the index finger and use the shade to create a French tip on the pinky. Then, apply two coats of GELLUX Mini, Absolute Greige, to the ring finger. For each layer of colour, cure for 60 seconds.
Step 3
Apply a vertical and horizontal line of Plumberry on the ring finger, as shown, using your liner brush. Cure for 60 seconds.
Step 4
Using the liner brush, apply a vertical and horizontal line of Dusty Lilac over the Plumberry lines, as shown. Cure for 60 seconds.
Step 5
Repeating the process from step 3 and 4, use your liner brush to apply a vertical and horizontal line of GELLUX Purely White over the other painted lines, as shown. This will create the finished tartan effect. Cure for 60 seconds.
Step 6
For a glossy finish, I applied GELLUX Shiny Top Coat and cured for 60 seconds. Wipe the sticky residue with GELLUX Prep + Wipe before applying cuticle oil to finish.
