Brazil inspired nails by Kayley Cairns

Step by Step

“Brazil is renowned not just for tropical rainforests but also for hosting the biggest carnival in the world,” says Kayley Cairns. “I wanted to tie in the bright popping colours of carnival feathers, jewels and sparkles with Brazil’s national colours, giving the finished look a bold, tropical feel.”

Step 1
Create a thin extended based for your nails using either clear or natural liquid and powder, or both for a French. I've used HD Professional Silk Rose and crystal clear.
Step 2
Apply your coloured acrylic. I've blended Lauren and Karen from the HD Professional Sisters of Summer collection. I've also used the same two coloured powders and marbelled in with polar white.
Step 3
Apply Lecenté Irredescent Glitter in Golden White Multiglitz over selected areas of colour.
Step 4
Cap in clear, file to smooth and topcoat using Akzentz Shine On.
Step 5
Using Akzentz Gel Play in Hot Pink and Teal, paint feather and leaf designs randomly over the nails. Cure and cleanse.
Step 6
Secure crystals using Akzentz Bling on. I've used teardrop-shaped Swarovski, spread in resemblance of the shapes of carnival costumes.
