Maximalist nails
Step by Step
Salon System nail expert, Jaz Moger, has created this maximalist step-by-step using the GELLUX Ready to Rock collection.
Step 1
Prep the nails. File to shape, push back the cuticle and buff the nail plate. Cleanse nails with GELLUX Prep & Wipe, apply GELLUX Fast Bond followed by one coat of GELLUX Light Pink Builder Gel and cure for 60 seconds. Next, from thumb to little finger, apply two coats of GELLUX Gel Polish in the shades Hush Hush, Wow Factor, Glamping, Stormy and Hush Hush again, curing between each layer.
Step 2
Using a fine liner nail art brush, paint wiggly lines down the ring finger with GELLUX Wow Factor. Still using GELLUX Wow Factor, paint some lines horizontally.
Step 3
To finish creating the wavy checkerboard, fill in some of the squares and cure.
Step 4
Using a dotting tool, dot GELLUX Gel Polish in Purely White into a flower shape at the tip of the index finger.
Step 5
Fill in the rest of the flower with a nail art brush and cure.
Step 6
Using a dotting tool, create an imperfect circle in the centre of the flower with GELLUX Gel Polish in It’s An Attitude. Then, paint a double wobbly kidney shape on the side of the middle finger using a fine liner brush and GELLUX Gel Polish in Flirty Fuchsia and cure for 60 seconds.
Step 7
Paint a wiggly line down the little finger with GELLUX It’s An Attitude and cure.
Step 8
For the thumb, paint wiggly lines down the nail using GELLUX Glamping and cure. With the dotting tool, use GELLUX Flirty Fuchsia and It's An Attitude to create a flower and cure.
Step 9
Paint one coat of GELLUX Clear Base & Top on all nails and cure for 60 seconds. Wipe nails with GELLUX Prep + Wipe and GELLUX Nail & Cuticle Oil to finish.
