Poison dart frog nails

Frog 4

Animal print, Step by Step

Salon System nail expert, Karen Louise has created a poison dart frog print inspired step by step using Gellux.

Salon System Gellux products are available from wholesalers nationwide.

Step 1
Prepare the nails, file to shape, push back the cuticle and gently buff the nail plate. Brush away any dust and wipe over with the Gellux Prep + Wipe. Apply the Gellux Fast Bond to nails and let dry, then apply a thin coat of Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat to the nails and cure. Next, using Gellux Live & Loud paint half the nail from the cuticle to the centre, and don’t cure. Then apply Gellux Mud & Music to the rest of the nail. Using a striping brush, blend the two colours together in a swiping motion from left to right to create an ombre effect, then cure. Apply Gellux Matte Base/Top Coat and cure. Wipe nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe.
Step 2
Use a small amount of Gellux Orange Fever on a palette, then with a dotting tool drizzle the colour around the nail to create your design. Make this wide enough to apply the black over the top, but still keep the orange outline, then cure.
Step 3
Then go over the nails using the Gellux Black Onyx, trying to stay inside the orange pattern. Finally, apply the Gellux Shiny Top Coat over the design, but make sure you still have the matte effect base as this adds more depth and shine to your design, then cure for 60 seconds.
Step 4
Finally, wipe the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil.
