Animal print, Spring/Summer, Step by Step

“I was inspired by the nature of Brazil so chose to mix the animals of the rainforest with the country’s flowers,” says Sinead Bulley. “I decided to use the cloisonné painting technique as I really love the way it makes the animal designs ‘pop’.”

Step 1
After building out desired length and shape of nails, paint all nails with Crystal Nails Royal Gel in Black.
Step 2
For the toucan, using various colours from Crystal Nails Royal Gel range, start by painting the basic shape of the toucan, his beak, body and head. Try to leave a gap between each part. Flash cure. Start to add some detailing to the beak a few triangles and dots, his eye. Add some green leaves and some flowers to the background. Cure again Add the finishing touches to the flowers to add definition to the petals and centre, add a darker green to leaves. Then using Royal Gel in Black, tidy up any lines to make the toucan crisp. Cure again.
Step 3
For the jaguar, use yellow and white gels to paint the face of the jaguar. Cure. Add eyes and spots to the face cure again. Continue to add details to the eyes. Using a bright green to a add palm leaf above the head. Also paint a flower and leaves at the bottom. Cure. Add darker patches to leaves and details to flowers. Tidy up with black any areas needed.
Step 4
For the parrot, paint the back and face in white royal gel. Using red, peach and blue hues, add feathers around the face and part of body. Cure. Add to the face an eye in yellow and black lines, followed up detail on the beak. Add green leaves and hibiscus petals. Cure Add the final details to the eye, leaves and flower. Tidy up any lines with the black and cure.
Step 5
For the tree frog, use a lime green, red and white to paint the basic shape of a frog. Cure. Using shimmery orange, add trees and flowers. Using a blue and white gel paint, add spots to frog. Cure Add pupils to the frog's eyes, as well as leaves to background and a pink flower. Cure Add details and tidy up any lines with black
Step 6
For the sloth, use Royal Gel in white to create a basic face shape, followed by brown and yellow for the eye detail. For fur effect use minimal gel and drag it while wiggling around. Cure Add a coral flower, a leaf and eye details. Cure Fill in the background with green leaves and add a purple flower to the bottom. Cure - tidy up any lines with black and add darker detail to the leaves. Cure.
