Smokey marble & gold nails

Step by Step

Marble is always a top trend, so Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger has created a revamped smokey marble step-by-step by putting a twist on this nail art fave with gold flecks.

Step 1
Start by prepping the nails. File the nails to a round shape. Push back the cuticle using the Salon System Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool and remove the cuticle using the Gellux Erase Cuticle Remover and cuticle nippers. Buff the nail plate and cleanse nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe. Apply Gellux Fast Bond followed by one coat of Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat and cure.
Step 2
Next, apply one coat of Gellux Base and Topcoat, don’t cure (it’s important not to cure this layer so that the green can ‘smoke’ and ‘bloom’). Using a flat nail art brush pick up the Gellux in This Girl Can and dab the colour from the tip of the nail fading down, do not cure.
Step 3
Wipe your nail art brush and dip the brush into Gellux in Purely White. Do the same with the paint fading down from the top, allow the design to be random, and then cure. After curing you may want to go over any sections to make them darker or brighter to add some shadowing. Then, cure for 60 seconds.
Step 4
Dab gold foil randomly onto the nail. The gel previously applied must be cured for at least 60 seconds so it is tacky enough to make the foil stick, or alternatively, apply Gellux Stick-It-Glue.
Step 5
To finish the look, apply a coat of Gellux Super Shiny Topcoat, cure and then wipe over with Gellux Prep + Wipe. Finally, finish by applying Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil.
