If you’ve ever stepped into a beauty salon and thought, ‘wow’, you’ve experienced the feeling Kayleen Moignard strives to create for every client at Bleedin’Beauty.

Based in Bridgend, South Wales, the salon is the result of combining a creative vision, determined spirit and undeniable passion for making beauty fun.

Kayleen’s journey into the beauty industry began in 2014, when she qualified in Theatrical Hair and Makeup at Fareham College. Fast forward 10 years, she decided to expand her skills to include nail services, training with Kimberley Grace.

“A blend of my creative roots and specialist nail training underpins the services I offer today,” Kayleen says, noting that, alongside her core qualifications, she invests in ongoing training to continuously refine her techniques and client experience.

The beginning of Bleedin’Beauty

The importance of client satisfaction permeates Kayleen’s salon, Bleedin’Beauty, which she opened in 2024 after outgrowing her previous rented space. “My client base grew significantly and I needed more space, more flexibility and the freedom to create an environment that truly reflected my brand and the experience I wanted to offer,” she explains.

Previously an office for a plumbing solutions company, Kayleen’s chosen space required some heavy lifting to transform it into the salon she envisaged. “In the beginning, I worked with what I could afford,” she reveals. “Rather than waiting until I had a large budget, I built the salon gradually, investing in better equipment, furniture, décor, accessories and products whenever I could. Every stage was funded through my own hard work and by continually reinvesting back into the business.”

Since its doors opened, Bleedin’Beauty has seen two major refurbishments, the most recent of which Kayleen says resulted in the ‘vibrant, immersive salon experience [she’d] always dreamed of’.

Colour, creativity & client experience

Designed to feel playful and fun, with huge amounts of personality, Bleedin’Beauty boasts a bold aesthetic with a strong focus on pink tones, statement décor and unique design features.

“As clients walk through the salon, they’re greeted by a bright pink floor, giant coral flowers on the walls, a disco ball ceiling and wavy mirrors that immediately set the tone,” Kayleen shares. “Even the bathroom was designed to be part of the experience, with an underwater-inspired theme that adds an unexpected element.”

Kayleen’s favourite area: the nail room, features cheetah print walls and a disco arch mirror, which combine to create a ‘luxurious space that photographs beautifully’.

“I chose such a fun theme because I wanted the salon to reflect both my personality and brand,” Kayleen comments. “I believe visiting a salon should feel like an experience, not just an appointment. Every design decision was made to create an environment that is uplifting, inspiring and memorable, while also encouraging clients to relax, take photos and enjoy spending time in the space.”

Coveted creations

Located within a quiet area just outside of Bridgend town centre, Bleedin’Beauty is easily accessible. Clients come from far and wide to visit the salon, many of which report that they are ‘amazed’ when they walk through the door.

“People regularly travel from Bristol, Newport, Swansea, London and beyond to have bespoke nail art created by me,” Kayleen explains. “I want the salon to reflect that creativity, so when clients arrive, the environment immediately matches the artistic experience they’re coming for.”

A talented nail tech with a passion for hand-painted designs, Kayleen offers a wide range of services including builder gel, gel polish, hard gel and structured manicures, with a focus on healthy natural nails.

“My most popular treatment is a hard gel base with creative nail art tiers added as extra,” Kayleen reveals. “Clients love that they can strengthen and grow their natural nails, while having unique art that has been designed especially for them.”

To achieve her desired results, the nail pro uses a ‘carefully selected range of professional brands’. She says: “I choose products that provide long-lasting results and maintain the health of the natural nail, allowing me to create intricate designs without compromising on quality. I continually research and test new products to ensure I’m offering my clients the very best in both creativity and longevity.”

Thoughts for the future

While she currently runs Bleedin’Beauty as the sole nail tech, Kayleen is keen to expand. “Although I work alone, my vision has always been to create a collaborative salon environment,” she states. “As the business continues to grow, I’m making two stations available to rent for like-minded beauty professionals, who share my passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.”

Looking ahead, Kayleen has big plans. “I’d love to franchise my salon concept, allowing the brand and client experience I’ve worked so hard to create to reach even more people,” she reveals. “I also hope to establish my own nail art academy, where I can teach and mentor the next generation of nail artists, sharing the techniques, creativity and confidence that have helped me build my business.”

Alongside goals for Bleedin’Beauty, Kayleen has personal aims in mind: aspiring to create nail art for celebrity and high-profile clients. But ultimately, she is focused on the bigger picture. “I want my salon to become synonymous with originality, exceptional artistry and unforgettable client experiences,” she smiles.
