Murad has lunched Clarifying Oil-Free Water Gel; an oil-free, non-comedogenic gel moisturiser to instantly soothe, smooth and hydrate the skin.

Ideal for oily and blemish-prone skin, the purifying lightweight hydrator hydrator uses Quorum Sensing Technology with Korean red pine extract to disrupt the bacteria-breakout connection. It helps to minimise impurities that can trigger irritation and balances the skin’s microbiome, while ginger root extract and hyaluronic acid help comfort and hydrate for healthier-looking skin.

A diverse microbiome helps keep skin healthy, but communities of bacteria can disrupt this diversity to create an imbalance. Quorum Sensing is a process that allows bacteria to ‘sense’ each other and connect, so by blocking this bacteria-to-bacteria communication a community cannot be formed, supporting a balanced and diverse microbiome for a clear, healthy complexion.

Key ingredients include:

  • Salicylic acid helps exfoliate and smooth the skin
  • Korean red pine extract interrupts bacteria signals that can lead to imbalanced and irritated skin
  • Ginger root extract comforts and soothes
  • Sustained-release hyaluronic acid enhances skin’s ability to attract and hold water for long-lasting hydration

“Moisturisers are a frustrating game of trial and error for oily and blemish-prone skin types,” explains Dr. Murad, founder of Murad Skincare. “Some feel they can’t apply a moisturiser, others feel they shouldn’t, and many believe they don’t need it. But, moisturisers keep skin and the microbiome healthy and in balance, which can help decrease oiliness and prevent breakouts.

“Clarifying Oil-Free Water Gel checks all the boxes for blemish and oily-prone skin types. It hydrates, balances and clams for healthier-looking and clearer-looking skin.”
