Celebrity manicurist launches HEMA-free gel products named after session nail techs

Celebrity manicurist & founder of nail brand, PersoNAILity™, Jenni Coles (formerly Draper), has unveiled ManiCure: a HEMA-free gel system.

When did you first get the idea for ManiCure?

“ManiCure has been a dream of mine for about 20 years, but the journey really began around three years ago. More and more of the celebrities I was working with were questioning what was in my kit: what products are made of and what ingredients they contain. This is when I started digging deeper into the formulation of nail products.

“I met with a UK chemist and we began formulating products. Over the last three years, we have tested countless versions and finally created formulas that we love! ManiCure products are made in the UK or EU, contain the Biotin vitamin and are free from HEMA, TMPTA and TPO.”

What is unique about the ManiCure range? 

“Every product has been carefully developed with clients’ nail health in mind. I’ve seen so many examples of poor practices and harmful products, so believe it was essential to create a line that’s both safe and effective.

“To ensure high standards, anyone purchasing ManiCure products must have a level 3 nail qualification (or equivalent) and complete a conversion course. The range is fully EU compliant, all products have SDS sheets available, and we’re registered on the UK Cosmetics Portal. We’ve also developed a cordless lamp that’s been specifically designed and tested to work with the system. ManiCure Gel Polish colours are richly pigmented, and the Builder Gels are infused with fibre for exceptional strength and durability.”

What are your goals for ManiCure?

“I want to create a ‘you can sit with us’ community – where everyone feels welcomed, supported and comfortable asking questions. Education has always been at the heart of everything I do. I love learning, teaching and want to help others find their way, especially those interested in working on shoots, red carpet events or with celebrity clients.

“I’ve partnered up with some amazing charities that help young people get into this industry. Supporting the next generation is something I’m incredibly passionate about. ManiCure offers online and in-person education, sponsorship and assistance with kits. What’s more, future collections will be co-created by the PersoNAILity™ community – we want everyone to be involved.”

What can nail pros expect from the first ManiCure launch?

“I asked eight London-based session manicurists to each pick a shade. The gel polishes and builder gels in the first collection are named after these pros, including Marian Newman BEM and Jenny Longworth. The launch includes staple colours, as well as trend-led, seasonal hues.

“The collection features:
