Nailympia competitor, nail artist, brand developer & distributor, Katarzyna Kaczmarek of Poznan, Poland, is calling on the nail sector to help fund urgent medical attention requiring 500,000 PLN – just over £100,000.
Katarzyna (Kasia), shares: “In August 2025, I was diagnosed with a malignant grade IV brain glioma (glioblastoma). From that moment on, an intense fight for health and life began. I have undergone radiotherapy and am undergoing chemotherapy, however the disease has a very aggressive course. To have a real chance of further treatment, I need additional, specialised therapy in Cologne, Germany.
“Treatment in Poland is carried out with the full commitment of the medical team, for which I’m extremely grateful. Unfortunately, in the case of this disease, standard treatment is often insufficient, and time is of the essence. Therefore, according to consultations, it is necessary to move into therapeutic options outside of the country.”
Katarzyna continues: “I’ve decided to undergo treatment in Cologne because it has specialised neuro-oncology centres that deal with the treatment of brain tumours on a daily basis, offer in-depth diagnostics and the possibility of qualifying for modern therapies and clinical trials. Treatment abroad is not an alternative, but a necessity to increase the chance of extending my life.

“The cost of treatment and medical care in Germany is very high. I’m collecting 500,000 PLN for specialist consultations, in-depth neuro-oncological diagnostics, treatments, accommodation, travel, translation of medical documentation, check-ups and follow-up care. This collection is a chance for me to continue fighting.
“If you cannot support me financially, please share the fundraiser. Thank you with all my heart for your support and every kindness shown.”
Close friend, nail artist, educator & Nailympia competitor, Paulina Walaszczyk, cites: “Kasia has always been a charismatic person, so full of energy. She has taken part in many international competitions and won about 70 trophies. She is mum to Borys, an 11-year-old boy, and has been running her business for two and half years selling her nail brand, OLTI. Since Kasia’s diagnosis, myself and a few friends have been supporting Kasia by taking care of her brand, so she can focus on recovery and family.”
