Fruit nails have been dominating our social media feeds this summer – but there’s one fruit in particular that’s making a big impact on the nail world, and that’s the guava.

For those that don’t know, guava is a fruit native to Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It is characterised by its light green skin and pink flesh: two colours perfect for the summer months (and Wicked fans), and the nail trend incorporates both.

Nail artists are getting creative with the fruit-inspired trend, incorporating cat eye, jelly and aura effects to fashion succulent, summer styles. Celebrity tech, Zola Ganzorigt of @nailsbyzola, even tended to the nails of actress & singer, Vanessa Hudgens, creating a ‘guava glaze’: a pink base with a green-yellow cat eye shimmer.
