Industry body, Habia, is offering employers, managers and educators working in the beauty industry the opportunity to help map out the future of apprenticeship training at an advanced level.

There are spaces on the Trailblazer steering group and on expert working groups for beauty professionals, especially those who have experience of apprenticeship delivery at levels 3, 4 or 5 and who have worked in a variety of beauty industry settings. Trailblazer standards are led by employers so business owners can be confident that apprentices will have the skills needed for working in beauty salons and the wider beauty industry.

“The beauty sector is changing rapidly and it’s also very diverse with job roles ranging from beauty therapists and counter consultants to aesthetic practitioners,” comments George Hammer, chair of Urban Retreat and chair of the steering group.

“It’s important that employers working on developing advanced beauty apprenticeships have a good understanding of the beauty industry and its breadth, while also offering specialist expertise in advanced beauty treatments.”
