June business marketing dates

Get your business prepared for the month of June, with our roundup of dates to note…

1st-30th: Pride Month

An event dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ voices, contributions and the progression of rights, Pride is also an opportunity to call for greater equality and acceptance. It’s an apt time to show your business’ support for the LGBTQ+ community, via themed salon decorations, inclusion of the rainbow Pride flag where possible, and social media campaigns.

Keep an eye on Scratch’s channels throughout June for profiles of LGBTQ+ nail techs, and take inspiration from designs such as the below, so you can offer powerful Pride nail art.

1st: Nail Polish Day

While nail polish might be a medium you celebrate year-round, this date is the perfect opportunity to promote it further to your clients. Established by the Essie nail brand in 2017, the day serves to cherish nail polishes and the many shades available.

Why not offer a discount on nail lacquer treatments, vouchers and/or retail items on the 1st, and share the benefits of nail polish in the salon and across social media to increase client understanding?

5th: World Environment Day

World Environment Day is a United Nations event that encourages awareness and actions to protect the planet. Founded in the 1970s, it is hosted by a different nation each time, with the Republic of Korea leading 2025’s event. It presents a new theme annually and this year, World Environment Day focuses on ending plastic pollution globally.

9-15th: Diabetes Week

This annual occasion from charity, Diabetes UK, serves to ‘make some noise, raise awareness and shout about the things that matter to people with diabetes, shining a light on what it’s like to live with day in, day out’.

It’s important that you are aware of the diabetic impacts that may be presented to you, particularly at the pedicure station. Clients with diabetes are at much greater risk of developing foot problems, as increased blood sugar levels can damage the sensations in the feet. Check out expert tips for safely carrying out pedicures for diabetic clients.

15th: Father’s Day (UK)

It’s time to celebrate father figures – and don’t miss out on the chance to do this in your nail or beauty business! Be sure to promote your gift cards as a self-care solution for dads, and fill up your retail displays with handy nail and skincare products to meet their needs. Click here for retail inspiration.

Maybe your dad has been a vital support for your company, or works within your business. If so, give clients an inside look at this on social media to celebrate Father’s Day and boost engagement.

16th: World Refill Day

From the nail products you use to retail items and the drinks you offer to clients, do refills play a part in your business? This event promotes packaging being reused repeatedly, rather than being sent to landfill, and is a great opportunity to open your eyes to the many companies offering refillable products.

If you already refill items in your business in a bid to reduce waste, why not share with clients and fellow nail techs to increase awareness and encourage them to do the same?

24-30th: World Wellbeing Week

Wellbeing should be a focus at all times, but this week offers the opportunity to particularly reflect on its importance and how it can be achieved in all aspects of life: at home, in the workplace, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and financially.

It’s common knowledge that nail and beauty treatments boost the wellbeing of clients, and this event is an apt time to promote this. However, also recognise how you can support your own wellbeing to avoid burnout, for example by following these seven tips.
