Beauty brand, Lottie London has introduced the Beauty for Blood campaign in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant, to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations.

With October being Black History Month, Lottie London has introduced the campaign to urgently call for more blood donors within the black community to help treat people with sickle cell disorder.

Sickle cell disorder is the UK’s fastest growing genetic disorder and it is more common in people of black heritage and more donors are needed as ethnically matched blood provides the best treatment.

According to the NHS, this year, the NHS needs 12,000 new donors of black heritage to donate blood to help people with sickle cell disorder. The research also shows that 1 in 10 donors are Gen Z and we need more young donors in particular to give blood.

To encourage people to join the initiative, Lottie London is offering the chance to win the Lottie London x The Vampire Diaries: Love Sucks collection by sharing an image of yourself at a blood donation site on Instagram tagging @lottielondon or on TikTok tagging @mylottielondon and using the hashtag #BloodForBeauty during the month of October 2022. Up to 100 winners will be selected at a first come first served basis.
