Met Gala manicures 2025: Sabrina Carpenter, Sydney Sweeney & more

Fashion’s most prestigious and anticipated night, the Met Gala, drew top talent from the beauty industry to create standout nail styles for A-list attendees.

This year’s event marked the opening of ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Guests were invited to dress according to the theme, ‘Tailored for You’. Alongside striking fashion statements, beauty choices were carefully curated to reflect the theme — and nail artists were tasked with interpreting it on their clients’ nails.

Sabrina Carpenter

Taking a creative approach to the theme, Sabrina wore a striking stitched nail design by Zola Ganzorigt . The celeb nail artist used red thread to ‘stitch’ French-inspired tips and the Louis Vuitton logo onto nails.

Cynthia Erivo

Renowned extreme nail enthusiast, Cynthia Erivo, did not disappoint with her Met Gala mani. The white and red set, created using OPI GelColor shades, Black Onyx, Alpine Snow and Red Hot Rio, matched her showstopping gown. The actress & singer’s longtime nail tech, Mycah Dior, wrote on Instagram: “We added pinstripe detailing, jumbo custom handmade embellishments, and a miniature tie as the finishing touch – definitely a nod to classic menswear, reimagined in the most maximalist and feminine way.”

Megan Thee Stallion

Creating the perfect extension of her dress, California nail artist, @nailedbytav, hand-painted lace details and incorporated striking Swarovski motifs for the American rapper & songwriter’s regal nail design.

Lizzo

LA & New York-based manicurist, Eri Ishizu, took to Instagram to share the details behind Lizzo’s Met Gala mani, which she described as a ‘modern sculptural French manicure’. To achieve the bold, monochromatic look, she used Aprés Nail Gel Couleur in Cloud Nine and Birnam Wood, and Aprés Nail Top Gelcoat X.

Sydney Sweeney

Cat eye tips and molten gold smile lines were the nail art of choice for actress, Sydney Sweeney. To achieve the subtle glam style, Zola Ganzorigt used OPI GelColor in Bubble Bath and Bare My Soul, along with OPI Chrome Powder in Gold Digger.

Ayra Starr

Singer, Ayra Starr, opted for an apt starry night look by celebrity manicurist, Angel My Linh. To create the seamless ombré style, she applied Aprés Nail French Manicure Gel to the tips, then layered Aprés Nail Overall The Best – Hello Kitty® Eye Gel Cooler over the entire nail for a magical finish.

American rapper, A$AP Rocky, walked the Met Gala carpet sporting a high-gloss mani by LA nail artist, Kim Truong. Using Aprés Nail Base Gelcoat and Aprés Nail Top Gelcoat, the look was finished with gemstone and pearl embellishments on pinky nails.
