Mindful Moments Month: Businesses unite to raise money for York women’s charity

Owner of Blossom Tree Socials, Sarah Hartley, is encouraging businesses to get involved with Mindful Moments Month to help raise funds for Kyra, a charity that supports women in making positive lifestyle changes.
Why did you start Mindful Moments Month?
“There are too many women feeling guilty for not having enough time or resources to incorporate mindfulness into their day-to-day lives. Just 10 minutes a day can make a real difference to your mood, mindset and life balance. I wanted to raise awareness of that – and raise money for a great charity at the same time.”
What will you be doing throughout the month?
“First and foremost, I will be completing a mindful walk everyday, along with my 10-year-old son. I’ll also be:
- Hosting a free nature journalling session.
- Sharing a mindulness challenge on social media each day.
- Hosting a free online guided meditation class.
- Hosting a wellness workshop, with a percentage of proceeds donated to Kyra.
You can find more details and updates on the events here.”
Why is it so important to you to raise money for Kyra?
“Kyra is a York-based charity whose mission is to support women in making positive changes in their lives. I’ve previously suffered with anxiety and low self-esteem, and introducing mindfulness practices – such as meditation, journalling, talking to friends and mindful walking – has helped me feel more positive, confident and content.”
How can businesses get involved and help spread awareness?
“By spreading the word! Businesses can promote Mindful Moments Month on social media using the hashtag #MindfulMomentsMonth and tagging me at @blossomtreesocial. Word-of-mouth within your networks also makes a big impact. We’re welcoming sponsors for the campaign – whether that means offering promotional support, donating resources or services for events or making a direct donation to Kyra.”
