A student from Texas caused a storm when her recent trip to the nail salon went viral thanks to her Snapchat solution.

While waiting for appointment in her local salon, 18-year-old Emma Young had a dilemma – more than just choosing her colour. “I was looking at the nail options, but the nail salon I go to has them glued inside the book so you can’t put your finger under it to see how it looks,” she said, talking to Buzzfeed.

To solve this, Emma took a picture of the shades she liked and used Snapchat’s custom sticker option to place them on a picture of her own nail! Virtually trying the shade on herself, she was able to choose her colour before taking a seat at the nail desk.

Sharing the funny solution with her followers on Twitter, Emma has since found the pictures have gone viral – seeing over 92,000 retweets currently! Many have dubbed it a ‘life hack’, recreating their own nailfies using custom stickers.

“It’s crazy so many people have responded to this,” Emma told Buzzfeed. “Some people think it’s awesome and other people think it’s stupid, which is fine with me because I didn’t take the tweet very seriously to begin with. It was just a lighthearted post about an idea that I had.”

In case you were wondering, Emma told Buzzfeed that after making four different nail stickers, she went with the cool grey of #150!
