Nail Salons Reopen In Odesa Ukraine

The historic city of Odesa along the Black Sea coast in Ukraine, has seen nail salons reopen, despite ongoing fears of Russian attacks due to the ongoing war, which started a month ago.

BBC News has reported that the recent reopening of nail salons, clubs and beach restaurants in the city not only is seen as an expression of defiance or economic necessity, but also reflects the growing confidence amongst local people in the war against Russia.

“The city is coming alive, I feel. I think the fear is going away a bit,” said a civilian in Odesa to BBC News.

“People believe in our army, which is protecting us, and makes us feel comfortable and safe. I don’t think the Russian army is winning.”
