Pantone 2018 Ultra Violet

Ultra Violet has been unveiled as the 2018 Colour of the Year by global colour trend forecaster, Pantone.

Described by Pantone as ‘a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade that communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future’, it hones spiritual and mystical properties – which make for stunning nail creations.

“We are living in a time that requires inventiveness and imagination,” comments Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of The Pantone Color Institute. “It is this kind of creative inspiraiton that is indigenous to Pantone Ultra Violet, a blue-based purple that takes our awareness and potential to a higher level.

“From exploring new technologies and the greater galaxy to artistic expression and spiritual reflection, intuitive Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come.”

The Pantone Color Institute advises companies on colour in brand identity and product development, leveraging the power, psychology and emotion of colour in their design strategy.

“As individuals around the world become more fascinated with colour and realise its ability to convey deep messages and meanings, designers and brands should feel empowered to use colour to inspire and influence,” reveals a spokesperson from Pantone.

“The Colour of the Year is one moment in time that provides strategic direction for the world of trend and design, reflecting the Pantone Color Institute’s year-round work doing the same for designers and brands.”
