Revealed: the most-searched nail trends of winter 2025

Beauty and wellness booking platform, Fresha, has revealed 2025’s top winter nail trends. Let’s take a look at them…

(All search statistics mentioned are from the period between October 2024 – September 2025.)

Milky nails

With 444,900 searches, the top-ranking nail trend of the season, milky nails, is a twist on the classic ‘clean girl’ manicure. The style involves using a semi-sheer, pale nude shade to create a ‘subtle wash of colour that mimics a soft and creamy appearance’.

Glass nails

Coming in at a close second with 403,900 searches, glass nails have dominated social media during recent months. The trend skyrocketed in October, when model & beauty business owner, Hailey Bieber, showed off ‘glass slipper nails’ at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards 2025.

The emphasis on glossy, ‘see-through’ nails seems to stem from the ‘glass skin’ trend, which has been dominating beauty circles over the past year.

Velvet nails

The third most popular nail trend, according to Fresha’s experts, is velvet nails. The textural talons utilise magnetic products, dispersing the shimmering particles to create an effect evocative of velvet fabric.

Fresha reveals: “Velvet nails usually make a comeback around Christmas time, as they’re perfect for the festive season and pair beautifully with Christmas party outfits.”

Dark blue nails

Dark blue has long been a staple of the cooler months. This year is no exception, as 172,700 searches for ‘dark blue nails’ have been recorded. The deep shade epitomises the season, channelling deep night skies.

Brown chrome nails

Glazed nails have been huge this year, with celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber sporting the style. Add to that Pantone’s Colour of the Year: Mocha Mousse, and you’ve got yourself a gorgeous combination.
