As we hit just over halfway through October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to showcase a fantastic gallery of men who painted their nails  to raise awareness and funds for the cause.

To remind readers, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK; as one in seven women and around 370 men are diagnosed each year.

Fighting breast cancer is a cause that has united the nail industry due to its impact on women and the predominantly female nature of the sector. In collaboration with the Future Dreams charity, Let’s Nail Breast Cancer was conceptualised by Lisa Crook, founder of nail and beauty distributor, Louella Belle, with support from René Lipsitz, Bio Sculpture UK founder and Susan Gerrard, founder of Gerrard International. Sadly, Lisa and René passed away from breast cancer in 2017 and 2015 respectively.

The Future Dreams charity itself launched in 2008 and is dedicated to raising funds for support, awareness and research for those touched by breast cancer. Each year, the charity collaborates with a number of beauty brands, distributors and companies for Let’s Nail Breast Cancer, a month-long campaign to raise funds for the charity’s work.

This month i made it my mission to paint as many male nails, as impressed upon us by the cover story in the current issue, where a group male celebrities are sporting pink nails.

Here’s the Scratch gallery so far…which showcase a teacher, doctor, business consultant, scaffolder, zookeepers & director, a football team, TV floor manager, teenagers, a design engineer & a vet nurse.
