Scratch chats with Abby Brown of Painted and Pierced about her future goals of session tekking and the importance of practising as a nail tech…

“I love that I get to create mini art every single day,” Abby enthuses. “I feel so lucky that I get to do it daily.

“How many people can say that they get to be creative on a daily basis?”

“Usually, I have one really nice hand and one that’s completely plain,” she laughs. “I’m sure most nail techs can relate.

“I don’t have the patience to sit and try to paint with my opposite hand all of the time!”

“I’m mostly known for my flames or black nail art.

“My fave product to use is the Aprés Artisté gel in black,” Abby reveals. “It’s just the cleanest black gel paint I’ve ever tried! ”

“My clients are all the nail inspo I need,” she beams. “They usually bring a design idea to the appointment.

“My clients and I often work together to create what they want.”

“I had a chance to work on fashion week this year.

“I think that’s really something that I would like to get into,” she reflects. “I love fast paced environments.”

“The best advice I received was never give up and practice every moment you can, even if it’s on yourself.

“Don’t ever compare yourself to anyone else, everyone has their own strengths.”
