Hannah Shoot Out 1200

“It felt amazing to win first place in The Great Scratch Shoot Out!” Hannah Missen beams. “I was completely over whelmed and still can’t quite believe it, there were so many stunning entries this year so I feel very proud of what me and my fantastic team have achieved.

The concept behind the shoot came from an image that had inspired me but most of all my love of leopard print! Leopard print is one of my favourite nail designs to do. I love how simple yet effective it is, it’s so versatile and fun!

“I chose this because I thought it was original and unlike anything I had seen from previous entries; I felt it would really stand out. My aim was to produce an image I could see on the front cover of Scratch magazine!

“I met with my photographer, Simon Fowler to brainstorm a few weeks prior to the shoot. He was brilliant; he had so many ideas about how to bring our plans to life! He even created the templates for the glasses and background which we had printed.

“Although the nails are a big part of the image, I didn’t want them to get lost in the background or take over too much of the models face, especially with the glasses. This is why I opted for shorter, natural almond tips.

“My advice? Go for it! Give yourself the opportunity to be creative, add to your portfolio and see where it takes you!”
